Privacy Policy

Short version: Power Right Button has no accounts, advertising, analytics, telemetry, or network access. App features run locally on your Mac.
1. Who is responsible
This website and the software operate under the Power Right Button brand (“we”, “us”). Privacy questions can be sent to support@powerrightbutton.app.
2. Information processed by the app
The app does not collect or transmit personal information. To perform an action you request, its Finder extension may temporarily process:
- the paths and names of files or folders you select;
- the destination folder where you request a new file;
- file contents while calculating a SHA-256 checksum.
This processing occurs locally. File contents are read in chunks for checksum calculation and are not retained by Power Right Button.
3. Preferences stored on your Mac
The app stores which menu actions you enable in a shared app container so the main app and Finder extension can use the same settings. These preferences do not identify you and are not transmitted.
4. Network access
The app and Finder extension do not include a network client entitlement and do not contact our website or any external service. Clicking Website, Support, Privacy, or Terms opens the relevant address in your chosen browser or email app; those apps then operate under their own policies.
5. Website data
This static website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels, account forms, or local storage. When you visit, the hosting and network providers may process standard technical logs such as IP address, browser information, requested URL, time, and security events to deliver and protect the site. Cloudflare’s handling of that infrastructure data is governed by its own privacy policy and applicable law.
6. Support email
If you contact support, we receive the email address, message, and attachments you choose to send. We use this information to answer and diagnose your request. We retain it only as long as reasonably necessary for support, legal, fraud-prevention, and record-keeping purposes.
7. Sales and downloads
A store or payment provider used to sell or distribute the app may process purchase, payment, account, and download information under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive complete payment-card details. Consult the provider shown at checkout for its specific practices.
8. Children
Power Right Button is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children. Because the app has no account or telemetry, we do not knowingly collect information from children through it.
9. Security and retention
Local app preferences remain until you reset them or remove the app’s container through macOS. No security measure is perfect, but minimizing collection substantially reduces risk.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal information held in support or sales records, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and complaint to a supervisory authority. Email us to make a request. Mandatory legal exceptions may apply.
11. Changes
We may update this policy when the product, website, providers, or law changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
