Most issues are solved by confirming that macOS has enabled the Finder extension. Power Right Button includes a direct shortcut to the correct system interface.

Quick setup

1. Open Power Right Button.
2. On Overview, choose Open Extension Settings.
3. Enable Power Right Button in the Finder extensions list.
4. Open a Finder window, right-click a folder or selected file, then choose Power Right Button.

Troubleshooting

The menu is missing

• Reopen Extension Settings from the app and confirm the extension is enabled.
• Close and reopen the Finder window where you are testing.
• Make sure you are using Finder, not an Open or Save panel inside another app.
• Move the app to Applications before enabling its extension. Do not run it from a disk image.

A menu action is disabled

New File actions need a writable destination folder. SHA-256 works only on regular files, not folders or special items.

A setting did not change the menu

Settings save immediately. Close the current context menu and right-click again so Finder requests a fresh menu.

A file was given “2”, “3”, or another number

This is intentional. Power Right Button never overwrites an existing file when creating a starter document.

What to include in a support email

• Your macOS version.
• Your Power Right Button version, shown on the About screen.
• The Finder location and action you attempted.
• The exact error message, if one appeared.
